Yachtmaster flashcards

153 cards covering every vessel's lights, day shapes, sound signals, IALA buoyage, chart symbols, code flags and distress signals. Walk round a vessel to see her lights from any side, play each fog signal out loud, then mark what you know so the next round only shows what you don't.

Lights · answer

Power-driven vessel under 50 m, underway

Rule 23(a)

Masthead light, sidelights and sternlight. Seeing the masthead light over both sidelights means you are dead ahead of her: if you are both power-driven, both alter course to starboard (Rule 14).

From dead ahead you see: masthead light, port sidelight, starboard sidelight.
